politics

I think it is amazing what is happening in our country right now. I did not vote for our now President Elect, Barak Obama- however I am coming to understand him and respect him. I greatly admire his recent actions and decisions- it is his ability to erase border lines and overcome prejudices that have been in place for centuries. He is confident and willing to shake hands with "the other side" and even welcome them aboard his sailing ship to make this world a better place. He did not appoint the people that he appointed for his own benefit and popularity but for our benefit, as a nation. That is to be admired. I am now excited and have great anticipation for what is to take place in the next four years. I have hope that this (risky as it is) team will help take this nation forward, in a new direction, with new ideas. As an American I will stand behind our God chosen leader (God said Himself- all authority is given by Him).

I just heard a sermon in church a couple weeks ago about respecting our leaders, whether they're good or bad or whether we like them or not, they were put in their position by God and we need to respect that. I'm still unsure about our new president but I'm certainly willing to give him a chance, I do hope he can make changes for the better.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Even though I typically vote conservatively, I did vote for Obama this year. There was something about him that made me feel hopeful. My trust and faith belong in God's hands and it will always remain that way with me, but I think Obama provides a sense of hope & change that other leaders have not provided. I think people feel more confident in the equality of America now. I hope that his actions match his words. Love you girl!
